Unable to change an email address

If you are looking to change the email address for an applicant, landlord, vendor or tenant, but the Email Address field is greyed out, this will be due to the email address being used for access to PropertyFile. 

You'll be unable to change the email address while PropertyFile is shared. The following message shows next to the greyed out Email Address when you hover over the question mark (?)

To change the email address:

  1. Click the chosen contact type (Vendors, Landlords, Applicants or Tenancies) on the main homebar
  2. Search for the relevant contact in the Find bar and click Go. Click View on the relevant record
    1. Alternatively, find and click the relevant contact from within the Last Viewed section
  3. Click the PropertyFile tab
  4. Scroll down and click Edit PropertyFile Sharing
  5. Untick any properties which have been shared
  6. A message appears stating All of the shares have been unticked, so the user will be deactivated. Click Save
  7. Return to the Summary tab of the contact and click Edit Details (Edit Contact Details)
  8. Enter the contacts new Email Address
  9. Click Save
  10. Click the PropertyFile tab
  11. Scroll down and click Edit PropertyFile Sharing
  12. Tick any properties you wish to reshare
  13. Click Save

The contact will be sent a new Activation email. This will ask them to activate their PropertyFile account with the new email address.
