On a Let Only tenancy, you don't have the rent schedule to demand rents like you would on a fully managed or rent collection tenancy. Therefore, in order to demand rent on a Let Only tenancy, you will need to apply the rent schedule.

Watch the short video below to guide you through adding a rent demand to a Let Only tenancy.

To add a Rent Demand:

  1. Click Tenancies on the main homebar
  2. Search for the relevant tenancy in the Find bar and click Go. Click View on the relevant record
    1. Alternatively, find and click the relevant tenancy from within the Last Viewed section
  3. Click the Property Ledger tab
  4. Scroll down to the Management Details section and click Edit Details
  5. The Edit Tenancy Management Details screen opens. In the Management Type dropdown menu, click either Fully Managed or Rent Collection Only
  6. In the Management Fee field, enter 0 (if it isn't already)
  7. Click Save
  8. On the tenancy Summary tab, in the Tenancy Details section, click Add Rent Schedule
  9. The Rent Schedule screen opens. Enter as a minimum (or amend if required) the Rent Amount (£) and the Next Rent Due date
  10. Click Save
  11. Now that the rent schedule is in place, click the Tenant Ledger tab
  12. Scroll down to the Rent Schedule section and click Demand Next Rent
  13. The Demand Next Rent screen opens. Check the Current Rent Amount demand, the Rent Period Start and End Dates it's demanded for, and who is paying the rent (Rent Paid By)
  14. Click Save
  15. The rent appears on the Tenant Ledger as a rent demand

If at this point you wish to remove the rent schedule from the property and prevent any further rents from being demanded:

  1. Click the Property Ledger tab
  2. Scroll down to the Management Details section and click Edit Details
  3. The Edit Tenancy Management Details screen opens. In the Management Type dropdown menu, click Let Only
  4. Click Save
