Why is a contractor with bank details not being paid by BACS?

If a supplier payment is showing in Pay by Cheque even though their bank details are on file, follow the steps outlined below. 


You will need to have both bank account permissions -  View Bank Account Details /  Edit Contact Bank Accounts, to complete this process

  1. Click Contacts on the main homebar
  2. Search for the relevant supplier/contractor in the Find bar and click Go. Click View on the relevant record
    1. Alternatively, find and click the relevant supplier/contractor from within the Last Viewed section
  3. Click the Supplier Ledger tab
  4. Scroll down to Contractor Details. Click Add Contractor Details
  5. In the Payment Details section, alongside Remittance Options, tick Send By Post or Send By E-Mail
  6. Confirm the Payment Type is set to Automated Banking
  7. Click the contractors Bank Account from the dropdown menu
  8. Add the Payee Name 
  9. Add the Reference Number and any Remittance Remarks
    1. You also have the option to add a Commission Rate or Liability Insurance Details
  10. Click Save

If you return to the Accounts section on My Dashboard, you'll find in Pay Suppliers that this contractor can now be paid by BACS.
