The steps below outline how you can use the Tenant Ledger to add charges to a tenant or tenancy.

 Note

To be able to click and use Add Tenant Charges on the Tenant Ledger, you must ensure you've set up tenant charges in Lettings Configuration

To add a tenant charge:

  1. Click the Residential Lettings department tab
  2. Click Tenancies on the main homebar
  3. Search for the relevant tenancy in the Find bar and click Go. Click View on the relevant record
    1. Alternatively, find and click the relevant tenancy from within the Last Viewed section
  4. Click the Tenant Ledger tab
  5. Click Add Tenant Charges
  6. On the Add Tenancy Charges For Tenants screen, scroll down to the Confirm New Charges section
    1. If you want to Apply Default? charge, click the underlined amount against the relevant Charge. This automatically adds the amount into the Charge Amount (£) field
    2. If you want to charge a different amount than the set default, enter the amount you want to charge into the Charge Amount (£) field, and if applicable, click the Charge Inclusive of VAT? tickbox
  7. Check the Total Amount Due (£) is correct
  8. Click Save

The charge is now applied to the Tenant Ledger
